Question about my brakes
Hello everyone. I have a quick question, but first here is some quick history. I drive a 2005 ford f150 lariat 4x4 and like most of everyone else here, i love my truck, but One day, about a month ago, i noticed my front left brake was smoking and decided that it might have been a sticky caliper. I was due for a brake pad change so i went ahead and replaced my front left caliper as well. Yesterday i noticed while driving that i was hearing a grinding noise coming from my front end. I slowed done and while applying more pressure to my brakes, they popped and i no longer had a grinding noise anymore ... so i come here to get some input from you fine gentlemen and ladies.

when you put the new caliper on , you should note that there are a couple mounting pins and slides that allow the caliper to "float". The pucks only push on one side so the caliper has to slide over to get both pads to contact the disc. You should clean the slides and pins so things will "float" easy......... If you did that and it was OK. then maybe you just had a small rock stuck in the disc and it popped out.
