I've owned a '68 GT w/390 and a '69 GT w/35W and I loved them both! I saw a '69 with a Talledega front clip at a car show once and loved it!

I had a red 61 with a 144 cid 6 and a black 64 with a 260 cid v8. Both were very reliable, but if I could have either one right now I would take the 61. That thing just sipped gas. That would come in handy now.

I'm also a fan of the 1966 Ranchero. I had one with the 289 4 bbl. It was trouble free and in great condition- turned a lot of heads. People were always coming up to me to admire it. My son had a 1964 Ranchero and we are fond of that body style also (1964-65.)

I had a 67 ranchero with a fairlane front on it. had a 390. it ran sweet, but the rest of the car was clapped out. then the tranny gave out, then parked at moms for 2years, then I gave it away. the guy I gave it to said it had gt heads. I let a another 67 fairchero slip thru my fingers. I noticed a good, straight red one with 50 foot paint in back of someones house. sometimes Ide see it on the street, so I knew it ran good. One day It disapeared. then I saw a different guy get in at the safeway parking lot. I stopped the guy and asked him what he paid for it said 1200, I couldnt believe it, he said the guy sold it cheap because sometimes it just woulnd start. He said allit was was the safety swicth in the gear selector. ha. So as Im near crying, he showes me around the car, original paint, red on red, factory disk brakes, 289,4bbl,alltrim intact and straight.dam, dam, dam!!

1960/66 Ranchero's are Falcons / 1967 Ranchero's are Fairlanes / 1968/76 Ranchero's are either Fairlanes or Torino's / 1977/79 Ranchero's are LTD II's.

my favorite year is my 61; 3sp, 170, base model, bought it new at Charlie Hillard Ford in Fort Worth while in high school; simple, dependable. No air till recently; found an original '61 Ford Falcon underdash ac unit and mounting bracket at Pate Swap Meet; works like a charm.

Love the '68 thru '71's

Gotta go with the 68 thru 71's just because they're in the middle of the muscle years and they look like it. Great engine options, a little larger for actual hauling and smoother ride, simple and smooth lines.

My first car was a '72 Ranchero GT with a 351 Cleveland. Because of this, '72 is my favorite year for the Ranchero.

Gotta be a 64. With a set of 65 taillights that is:-) 200-6 with a 2 speed auto. Man that thing is fun, I wish it were mine, but at least I get to work on(when it needs it) and drive it occasionally. Its got over 400(yes thats right, 400) thousand miles on the entire car, and that is not rebuilt. It does not smoke and she still runs like a champ.
