Question 300-6 oil presure

Right now in my motor im running 10w30. The presure is at about 35psi at cold start up. then at idle when warm it drops to just under 25psi, and at 1500rpm (my highway rpm) it is pushing about 30psi. does this sound about right. My dad was thinking it seemed a bit low so i was going to put 10w40 oil in it this change. What do you guys think?

That is well within spec...just put in what the motor reccomends. Why fix something that ain't broke?

My 84 runs about 60-70 psi at idle and 80-90 psi at highway speed -2500 RPM. I am running a Mellings high volume pump though Actually my Chiltons manual says that is indeed the normal operating range for a 300 six.

Ford says 55psi as maximun. Hydraulic lifter can keep all the way up if valve springs are a bit low of tension, then appears rought idle.

Mine runs about 25psi at warm idle. Yours sounds about right.
