Lift gate will not open either manually or by using switch inside or using key fob. I read some about disconnecting battery or cutting power to module, so module could reset. No go. Ford service says I need to replace the latch/latch actuator for a price of $580. Ouch. Anything I can try before I lighten my pocketbook?

 

Sounds more like the cable broke than the actuator is bad.
