New Vehicle Depreciation...when?

New Vehicle Depreciation...when?
Hello everyone. I've lurked on the forum for quite a while and it's been great learning about diesels from all of you (this will be my first diesel). Looking to upgrade from my Tundra to a F250 6.7L.
I'm going to test drive a truck this weekend at the local dealer (F250 Lariat 6.7L FX4 w/ 3.55). It fits all my criteria (except for no upfitter switches) but I noticed on one of the interior pictures that it already has 315 miles. Not sure how many have been put on since they took the photos, but I guess I'll find out this weekend. Doesn't this seem like a lot for a brand new truck? If it's upwards of 500 miles when I test drive it, is it really considered new still?
Also, for a newbie to the diesel world, if I decide to buy is there anything you'd recommend having the diesel tech show me (how to check for water, etc.)?
Thanks in advance!

As long as the miles were under a thousand, I'd still purchase the truck and use the mileage as leverage on the final price or have them toss some items in like mud flaps (installed) or floor liners.
To me, this is a possible indication that the truck has been on the lot for an extended period of time. My 2011 was like that and I got a great deal on that truck. Don't be afraid to low ball them with your first offer if it comes to an offer.
Good luck with the test drive.

Sounds like they need to install a spray in bedlinen, couple of oil changes etc as part of your deal. The upfitter switch's can be purchased for $150, if you can't get them to add them for you. I put some on my 2010 F350 and few years ago.
Good luck with your purchase!

My only regret from buying super duty trucks was not getting the F350 SRW . I always just got f250's and if you're going to get an Rv or tow much the 350 is the better value.
Otherwise, I can't think of any better advice than you've already gotten.
Except, read all the materials in the 6.7 tech folder here.

As David mentioned, the upfitter switches aren't prohibitively expensive or hard to install, If the dealership doesn't want to add them. I'd hit 'em for everything I could though. With 2016 SD's hitting the lots, you should be able to negotiate a pretty sweet deal, along with oil changes, etc....You can also ask about throwing in extra warranty...
