Don't they just want you to unscrew the valve out(guts) and then screw the brass fitting onto the threads to allow you to adapt to 1/8" npt?

no they want the whole valve removed by the looks of it

If you use an adjustable FPR, it has a test port on it you can adapt to anything you want.

I am getting ready to install a fuel gauge on my 1994 460 F53 and I going to mount it down on the frame. I will be using the items in the image below.

I thought about doing mine that way but I just couldn't bring myself to slice the fuel line in two. Now if it had already been done by someone else in the past, no big deal. But mine is all original and I'm going to try and keep what's there all original while adding goodies to it. But I'm **** like that, so don't mind me!
