I put my 180° thermostat in today. I ran the **** out of it for 10 miles and couldn't get it to go above the N. But, that's not pulling, pulling is a whole different world for my trucks, LOL!

Good deal. I'll be curious to see what your oil temps do while pulling. I think that makes more difference than the coolant temp with as hard as you're working your truck while towing.

Ah, ok! LOL...good to hear. When I pulled through the Hill Country a few weeks ago, it wouldn't get past the O and my oil temps stayed at 220* climbing a few decent grades. I pushed it pretty hard too just to see where the truck was at. That was with that stupid leak happening! I am wondering if it might be a tad better now since there is no leak, hence the pressure in the cooling system will be good, but I'll take those numbers.

I completely agree Nate. I was never worried about the coolant temps, but the oil was what worried me.

A week to ten days I'll be AZ bound and down.

Cell service is so bad here I can barely get a text, even on my booster. Thank goodness I have my satellite internet. If you mean about the tuners Aaron, TW and Powerstruck are ignoring me even though I sent new emails.

When I park here I have to pull the camper up on blocks on one side to get it level. The Blue Ox did it without breaking traction when the Mare would always spin a tire. I went out in a field and nailed it and both tires broke loose! I think the limited slip on the OX is in perfect working order. I'm glad we serviced the diff to keep it working good!!

I was more asking about the smell thing.

I was reading elsewhere Powerstruck guy had his hard drive crash and he lost everything. It may not be tragic but tw...y you can't get any is beyond me.

Maybe the first half of November I will attempt another live tuning session even if I don't swap in an adrenaline.

Super pumped the ox roxs!!!!

I used that aluminum tape and encapsulated it, then put aluminum heat wrap over that. It seems to work fine so far.

Well, I'll b anxious to hear how it goes Glenn. I am guessing you'll notice a big difference in towing. I think it's odd how the other Tstats don't seem to work once they decide to go bad. I wouldn't think their would be that much difference between a Ford or a Napa, but apparently there seems to be.

On another note, my family are making the trip in January back to the great state of California. I'll really get to see how Ruby performs over a long period of traveling for a week. For once, I don't have any major work to be done. Just change the oil and go! I may do the fuel filters too just for good measure. I am looking forward to the trip much more this time knowing I have lots of reliable power. I'll definitely stop in and see JW as well and get a fluid change and possibly some tuning if he is able.

Years ago I had a stat go bad in my '97. I got one from Autozone, it lasted a week. So I paid more and got one from NAPA. It lasted a week.
I started doing research and found that guys were saying even Ford and IH stats were a toss up. Would last weeks, months, or years, and they are way more $$$ than parts stores.
So I got one from Diesel Site and it worked perfectly for as long as I had the truck.

Not sure how or why, but quality is all over.
