Darin helped me out a lot today, he tunneled out the area for the DP and helped me put in a new WP. On the test drive there wasn't any noise but the final test will be tomorrow when I pull the 5er. What a great guy, used his only day off to help me!

Thanks Glenn, glad to help. It was great to finally meet you! Nick, it is still a 3 inch. I'm not sure it would even be possible to put a 4 inch in that truck. Amazing how little room there was. I had to make more room for his 3 inch than I did for my 4 inch.

Glad you were in good hand there with Darrin! At least Darrin sees what we were up against. That's a tough one.

Real thankful for all of us brothers on here no doubt!

I saw that Darin. I probably only cut half that area out for my 4" as well

It's just crazy that there is a difference in the cab configurations like that. Glad you were in good hands Glenn!

I'm glad you got it all straightened out. Hopefully the trip today is uneventful.

I told you that thing was ugly, didn't I!? Thanks for helping us finish the job, Darrin. You 'da man!

Glenn, did you ever get a reading on your EGTs? I'm really curious to hear what you're seeing now.

Darin also made a mount for my dieselsite filter base on the firewall. The kit came with a alternator mount and the IC pipe was in the way. I never thought of looking at the SD filter kits, that might be the way to go if you have a IC. I don't know why but the picture of the billet thermostat housing is upside down but this gives you an idea of that.

Brian, no broken bolts! But, I screwed up and when I put the WP back on one of the electric taps on the passenger side got stuck under the WP and I didn't notice it. Had a leak of course and Darin discovered what I had done, loosened some bolts and pulled it out. Lucky it didn't tear the gasket and no leaks now.

Nate, the EGT's are at least 200° less, maybe a little more. I'm using Gearheads performance tune which seems to have as much power as the II's used to but I can defiantly stay in it longer. With no noise now (hopefully) I'll be able to really test it out today, I have 320 miles to go.

Glenn is that a billet TH, for OBS WP?, and with that TH you need to use a different radiator hose?

Yes, and Yes Jose.
The stock thermostat housing/pipe is taller and has bend in it.

You guys did say it was ugly! Up high in the seam area it's still kinda tight, there just isn't much room on that truck. I cut up and out as much as I could. The reason I made the tunnel so far down is I wanted to get the dp/exhaust away from the trans line and crossmember too. It was laying right against the trans line, and just off the crossmember. With the tunnel that far down I was able to turn the dp a little for more room. That made it real close to the floor down farther, so I just kept on cutting! I hope it stays in that position and doesn't rotate on him. I think it will, but we'll see.

Just talked with Glenn and he said the dp noise is gone, but the water temp is running higher. The engine temp light even came on once. He is almost there, 50 miles to go. Not sure what to think, it's not hot outside either. Unless there is an issue with the new Tstat.

Darin, is the new Tstat a 180? I am just convinced that a 180 is the only way to go to keep EOTs down while towing as well. Just my experience....twice LOL

No Byron, its a 192 from ford. He wasn't having the heat issue before that I know of, and I believe had the same temp tstat.
