Long story short went to reinstall my edge chip after a Service update, for install the new admissions update. I got halfway through the install, Chip stopped downloading halfway through and told me that the chip could no longer talk to the truck. Took the truck back to Ford and had the mechanics look at it and they told me that the performance chip blue the PCM, they're wanting to charge me 700 for a new PCM and 400 for maintenance. I didn't know that a performance chip could blow a PCM, they're saying the PCM can't be repaired and that they just have to buy a whole new PCM which seems odd to me. Can anyone back this up, has this happened to anyone else, am I being scanned?

I drive a 2012 F250 XLT 6.2 L
