Need to find ZF6 transmission ASAP

Dropped my transmission because I had a leak, thought it may be the front seal. It just couldn't be that simple. It is cracked, broken, and now trash. I need this truck up and running. I can put another transmission in it, but need to find an affordable one, seeing that I don't have a core. I live in East Texas and so anything in South Arkansas or Oklahoma, Shreveport Louisiana area, or Central/East Texas. I have checked junk yards, to no avail, so now I am asking you all for some help.

If the truck isn't working neither am I and that just doesn't work for me. Thanks in advance.

Try midwesttrans.com

they sold me a short shifter for my zf6 and I believe they sell/rebuild the zf6 itself.

What is wrong with your transmission? Where/how is it cracked and broken, and what caused it?

Reason I ask is because I tow heavy and if this something typical that can be avoided, I'd like as much info as possible.

Good luck.

Thank you for the information. I will check them out. We bought this truck used about a month ago. Don't know how it was broken. When I dropped the transmission the casted pump cover was broken off and loose in the bell housing. It looked like they had "glued" it back into place so that it would last long enough to get it sold. I really wish it had just been a front seal like I had originally thought. It shifted fine, now I can't reuse it or get it rebuilt. I wish I could resell it to someone else, but I don't like to screw folks over like we were. So, sucking it up and trying to find a replacement.

It's aluminum. Can you get it welded up?

Being cast, I don't know. I am definitely going to try it though.

Cast aluminum is not like cast iron. It can be welded no problem.

Yes on welding aluminum. Check your local welding shops. Someone will fix you up.

Try the below link:

http://www.car-part.com

I found 8 within 275 miles of Texarkana if the welding does not work.

Thank you all for your help! I ended up getting a transmission from manualtransmissions.net - Crazy Domains. Couldn't find a rebuilt for a comparable price point locally, and most of the transmission places wouldn't take my core and therefore would not sell me a transmission. Man-Trans not only sold me a transmission, they gave me some money for my broken core. Have an unlimited mileage warranty and will get a transmission in my truck when it arrives. It can't come soon enough. Thank you all again. I hope this thread helps someone else that is searching for the elusive 6 speed manual transmission.

Looked at trying to weld it up, but it looks like the clutch shattered and it hit several places and broke off the pump cover. After I cleaned it up I found several cracks on the casing. Just replacing rather than taking a chance on a broken transmission in the middle of a haul.

Update: Finally Installed

Update: Finally received the transmission and it is installed! Ran into a few complications getting the transmission, but the install went smoothly. Now to figure out a few new issues. Leaking fuel and throwing ICP code. I will get this truck working right eventually. Love fixing other people's shortcuts. At least it keeps life interesting (trying to find a bright side to the aggravation).
Thank you for all of your help.

Bought the transmission from mantrans.net with a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty. They had shipper problems, and tried to fix it, though still not completely satisfied with the outcome. The transmission seems to be solid and rebuilt well, though time will tell.

That link is useless. It just goes to the domain name registrar. It looks like that website is just a "place holder".

I hope this one works for you http://mantrans.net/ I just tested and it worked for me. The other probably was a place holder.
