My 390 sets in a V-Drive boat
If you haven't already you can purchase the rockers arms and shafts ( at Rock Auto )along with springs sold separately ?// I think last time I looked the shafts were $26.00?// There is a oil deflector that fits under the shaft pedestals if you don't install ( None adjustable rockers ) it will increase coil bind ??/ And if your mechanic installed 428 springs this might be a problem ??/ I always wanted to install adjustable rocker arms ( cost didn't allow )it takes the guess work out of some of the rocker problems ??/ That and spacer springs between the rocker arms ( Weak link )??/ Replaced mine with aluminum spacers ??/ They used to be available at summit Racing ??/
