somebody broke into my parents jeep last night, and the keys for our f150 were inside. they took the keys, broke into the f150. they didn't steal it, but they took the keys.

that was our only set. what are my options? go to ford with the VIN? can they produce a key off the VIN or will they need to replace all the cylinders?

You will either need to tow it to a Ford dealer, have a well-equipped mobile locksmith work on it, or take it to a well equipped shop who can do all the work needed.

No, it's too old. The data is no longer available in Ford's system.

Yes, as well as they must reprogram the PATS security system to the new keys. That last part is usually the hardest as it takes special equipment that's usually expensive.

 

If they had the Keys why did they Break into the F150? Also, do you not have a spare set?

cop showed up this afternoon with a bag of keys. none of them were ours but they were gonna search his house. turns out he was arrested and released on bail for the same thing 2 days ago. what a loser. i'm just hoping they find the keys. they also stole one of the spares to my 2012 f350 dump, so i won't be parking that truck there for a while
