My 79 F250 4x4 Explorer now has the F350 rear end (Dana 70) and the F350 rear springs, what else would technically make it a F350? It's going to be my work horse for gravel and stuff I don't want to scratch Bandit when he is painted up.
Happy August 1st. I'm home from vacation, only a few dents on the running boards of the Exploder, but it's no Jeep. We failed to summit Imogene Wednesday. Going to have to get the jeep done and do it next time I go to the San Juans.
My 79 F350 had a d60. From what I can tell, springs (although I think mine were the same as the ones on my F250) and axles are the only difference. I've got a set of overloads, but I don't remember if they came off the F350 or one of the F250s.
I am relatively pleased to announce that (for the moment) everything is now working on the '87. I got the front tank's pump changed out and everything seems to be working properly. Now I need to focus on where a leak in the cab is coming from that keeps soaking the passenger side seatbelt. I suspect the back window so I'll start by changing it out with the one I got last weekend.
