Yes, I meant the Chevy and not your truck. Sorry about that, I should have been more specific. Didn't you put some heavier springs under your '61 recently? Or was that more of a "thinking about" since you won't pull the trigger on a late '60s vintage C750 roll back.

I'd ask what kind of idiot do you have for a neighbor...letting a tool willingly go underwater. But then giving it away pretty much summed it up for me. Maybe I care too much for my toys/tools to just abandoned them like that.

Learned something new this weekend, I'd always seen the side-by-side version; didn't realize they made them that small either. We used to have one of these at work...until two tires & and shifter were destroyed within a week. Clearly they're not railroader resistant.

No, I wasn't anywhere near it.

I put new springs under the back. There were like 4 different spring ratings, and I used the heaviest ones for the 1/2 ton. Previous to that it had different springs on each side(5 leafs on one, like 8 on the other). I added new heavy duty shocks, and air shocks on the back for when I'm towing. Then, I added the power steering and power disc brake kits from CPP. The truck is much more user friendly now.
I have the patch panels for all the rust holes(cab corners and driver's floor), now all I have to do is stop driving it long enough to get them put in.

He's had this Mule for 18 years, used it extensively hauling firewood and dirt, but had gotten agrevated at it for fuel issues. The tank is pretty rusty and carb problems are more than his limited mechanical skills could handle. I'm planning to build a new aluminum tank in the near future to resolve this issue.

Those little mules suffer from the same steel tank issue the chassis cab SuperDuty's have...delineation?

Speaking of gas tanks. Anyone have a rear tank for a '77 F-250? The one we had was rusty inside, so we tried the electrolysis method to remove rust. It worked real good...removed the rust all the way to the outside air at one point.

I have one in a 76 F100, should be the same. I would have to check it to see if it is good though.
