Exclamation Crew Cab OBS - New Window Switch Bezels - Ready for Order!

Is there an interest in getting new ones for our old OBS trucks?

I havent been able to find a supply. LKQ/JY rarely gets crew cab trucks (1! in the last 3 months, and the bezel was hydro-graphiced with camo. Gross.) so getting used, unbroken bezels before someone else snatches them up is a game of roulette I'd rather not play.

Decided to go ahead and draw/model some up in 3D off two half decent bezels and a caliper. Guess that's why i'm up at 1AM making parts for two trucks I dont own

Below two images are Rev. 1.1 - Outdated as of 8/1/15

Looking at getting them printed off for now.
So, any interest in these? Would be willing to open up the page for people to buy the bezels. And what would you guys be willing to pay for a well designed one? Trying to keep the price down, Paying 150-200$ for a piece of plastic is quite honestly, probably verging on lunacy.

Below images are current revisions of bezels as of 8/8/15

Is 75$-80$ a piece + shipping too high?
I remember them being around 75$ a piece from the dealer way back.

Where have yours broken?
Around the screw holes, correct?
The picture above was just getting the fascia and switch box dimensions zeroed in. Havent yet drawn in the countersinking for the screws though, or the supporting ribbing for the back.

EDIT: Yes read through that thread already.
I'll probably have numerous revisions as time goes on.
This isnt a "Ill pay in forward to make 20 of them and sell what has been made" thing.
They are made individually.

EDIT 2:
Material options?
Black and white plastic
Metallic plastic
stainless steel

I'm interested to see how you make these. Mine is in good shape but the broken ones I've seen have been at the screw hole.

These will be 3D printed. Preliminary estimates on prices would be roughly 70-80$ for white/black plastic, 100-110$ for metallic plastic, and roughly 250$ for 420 stainless.

I could look into casting from molds for that rather than CNC.

EDIT: Reading into it more, the metallic plastic is a nylon/aluminum composite.

I am in for one in black plastic. It would be GREAT if it had the markings of the window and locks like original

The printing?
Could possibly be double-shot. Or silk screened. Would have to be done after you get the part though.

If you're planning on having them 3D printed, I'd be interested in purchasing a copy of the files for personal use only. I would also be happy to sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement - I suuuuck at 3D CAD modeling, but I have access to a 3D printer through work and I've got some ideas I want to play with for alternate switch packs, so I'd want to make and destroy a bunch of bezels for personal use - wouldn't be economical to buy a bunch of new panels just to destroy them.

Sure!
Id go as far as helping you draw up some modified bezels for different switch packs!
Name a price. I can export to .DAE and .OBJ

Wouldn't be immediately - it's nine million degrees here in Texas and I'm not going to be taking this up until it cools off enough to go to the junkyard and look around on a regular basis. I am also in the middle of having someone else draw up some plastic parts for a motorcycle project I have so I want to concentrate on the requirements of that project for a while.

As for a price, say half of the price of the cheapest fabbed one?

I feel you. Ive been outside for the past 3 hours here in Houston...
Its a hell hole.

On another note:

Do people regularly break the other bezels?
The 96 I have around the passenger side bezel is cracked. Is there a demand for these as well?

The other bezels are all over the place since they are the same on all the trucks with power windows from 92-97. The drivers bezel is specific on the crewcab from 94.5- 97

That's what I thought.
I think i'm about ready to open it up for order. This will be Revision 1.2, some things will probably change. Thinking about reinforcing the upper screw hole, they seem to split about 30*-35* above the horizontal line on both sides. Perhaps some lightweight webbing around in that area will help cut down on fractures.

Truthfully, nothing will stop someone from cranking down with their calibrated wrists to 100 lb. ft. of torque on those screws..
