Exhaust Filter HELP

I am working out on a small Pacific island and we have 2 new F550's .
Have the "Exhaust Filter Over Limit Service Now" message come up on one .
Now we have tried doing to recommended drive to clean a few times here on both trucks , but it is very difficult . The island has rough pot holed road (there is basically only one and only about 12 miles of that) and a fair bit of traffic .
Driving at 30mph for any length of time is pretty tough to achieve .
Now the message tells me to take the truck to a service place … we good luck with this !! Nearest Ford dealer would be Hawaii or Guam maybe .
The truck in question has only 750 K on it less than 500 miles

So what can we do ? Any way to clean the filter ourselves , but then of course there will be the engine management to clear .
It has not gone into any shut down on power .
Fuel should be OK quality wise , but I am guessing there really .

I have seen after market controller things for sale like H&S Black Maxx and replacement pipes , but don't totally understand these .
Things are pretty basic here , really basic , but we can work through I guess with help :-)

Thanks in advance for any advice
Billy

We need more info on the engine as to which one you have. Also might ask these questions in the engine section as those folks are great with engines. Being a new vehicle look at the service area of forum there is a direct line to ford via private message.

have you tried running the engine at a fast idle to see if it will initiate a regen cycle to clean the filter? I remember some guys with class 8 trucks talking about how they had to sit on the side of the road for an extended period of time while the exhaust filter cleaned.

I hate to say it but a newer DPF equipped diesel engine is probably not going to give good reliable service with your type of use. These engines need to be taken out and run in order to keep the emissions system clean. Short distance driving is tough on any diesel but it's a lot worse with this newer stuff.

Being you have F-550's you can install operated commanded regeneration (OCR), basically a switch that puts the engine at a high idle and performs the "exhaust cleaning" (aka regen for short) while stationary. I haven't looked into adding one, may still require truck to go to dealer to program it into the trucks network.
The other thought I had is have you been seeing white smoke? If so, you might not have ultra low sulfur fuel, which will also not end well for the filter (aka diesel particulate filter, DPF). In this case your only option is a delete kit from H&S or similar company. This will void warranty, but also would not require truck to go to dealer either.
Good luck, and welcome to FTE.

Remember the op would have to take the rig to a to ship via over ocean to get to dealer. He is on a island in Pacific.

operated stationary command is the answer.

Or delete the emissions components.

Maybe your company can work a deal and fly a ford tech out to install OCR software. Given the conditions there a V10 gas version 550 would have probably been a better choice in vehicles.
