I would be curious as to what transmission temperatures you see vs. a F-250 towing heavy. I think your gear ratio may allow you to run a lower temperature on the transmission. I think Ford returned to the 3.73 ratio on all of the F-350s for that reason starting with the 2015 models.

Can you plug your truck and trailer information into the tow calculator and see if you come up with the same results as a F-250?

The 2015s use different gear ratios between the F-250 and F-350 so the numbers are skewed. The calculator is all about the manufacturers rating for the vehicle and if the #s exceed that rating. For my 2001 F-550 the calculator is dead on the tow rating numbers that Ford used. I am curious if that is still the case.

Reading the site the information made sense and I want to continue to refer people to that site if it is accurate.

The main rear spring pack is identical between the two. The SRW 350 comes with a single upper overload spring which is optional on the 250 coming included with the camper package.

If you order the same engine and same options the gear ratios are the same between the two even in 2015. Calculators are useless as they take into account manufacturer's specs which in the case of the 250 are fabricated. That site can't possibly be accurate as it is using false ratings from Ford...

Incorrect. The SRW 350 has 3.31's standard with 3.55's optional just like the 250 on every year 2011 and up through the current 2016's. The DRW 350 is the only 350 to get 3.73's with optional 4.30's with the max towing package.

Sorry about the incorrect information.

I got that info out of an article that was written back when Ford was being quiet about the changes to the 2015 engine ratings. I think it was in an article in Diesel power or Diesel World in early 2014 speculating on what Ford was going to change and why.
