1975 F350 with rattling doors

My doors rattle. The rattle as if they are not latched completely whenever going down the road, they rattle on dirt roads, they rattle going over bumps.

The doors close completely. The latches are responsive and the doors are completely closed, however when driving, if I stick my arm out the window and pull in on the door, it rattles LESS (but not completely gone). The full weatherstripping is in where it should be. I've read the threads about the striker bushings, and I will look into that as soon as I get home. In the interim, are there any other bumpers or items that should be between the body and door to alleviate this that I should check for?

Is it the door itself or the door panel, or something internal (e.g. window)? If it's not the striker bushing, I'd remove the door panels and see if that makes a difference, then try holding the window in place, etc. in case it's window felt that's the issue.

Is this Dr. Suess? haha

Probably your door strike bushings are gone?

Might check your weather stripping too. Mine are less door panels and have replaced the strikers which helped some, but the drivers side weather stripping is gone which is pretty noisy.

Absolutely. They rattle in a house. They rattle with a mouse. They rattle here and there, they rattle everywhere.

I think it's the doors, but it could well be the windows. Now that I think about it, I've only driven it with the windows open. I'll try driving with them closed. The felt bit around the door perimeter where the window seats seems to all be intact, so that should be a good test.

Other than that, are the striker bushing available themselves? I keep finding full strikers for sale.

They should be in the "Help!" parts section of your local auto parts store in blister packs.

Or online: http://smile.amazon.com/Dorman-38424.../dp/B000COCRHI

Thanks, but that one, like all the ones I find, says it won't fit 1975. All the ones I do find list 2003-83. At $4.00 at Advance, I guess trial and error is in order.

If the auto parts store ones don't fit, LMC sells the whole striker assembly for $10: Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

Your replies are good. Your replies are fine. I should find the bushings. For one ninety nine.

If I don't and if they're not there. I'll replace the strikers. Perhaps...the pair.
