Oh my! Be still my heart! Flathead V8 with Hydromatic?

 

This one was a flathead v8 with a 3 speed stick. Unfortunately the PO (who bought it from the original owners family) took the engine apart and found a lot of problems including a badly sunken valve into the block. He wanted to keep the engine to play with so I bought it less engine/trans. Needs some new glass thanks to kids with BB guns but the car is very solid and interior is in good shape and original.

 

That mixer truck is so cool! Would sure look great restored with fresh paint in those bright colors.
Any competent sign painter should be able to recreate the door lettering from photos

 

I'm of mixed opinion on patina. Although I'm leaving my truck that way mostly for money.
I'm thinking you would be fine doing nothing to it. But I would consider having someone to some work on the door art. Not new but painted to look aged, just enough to someone can read it.

 

Given the cost of competent bodywork and quality paint, it's no wonder that "patina" is in style!

I gotta say too that in some examples it just looks right. A 50 or 60+ year old truck maybe ought to show some scuffs and dings. I like the "desert" finishes on trucks that have spent their time out West.
