Building a set of anti-wrap/ traction bars.

I have come to the realization that I could benefit from having a set of anti-wrap bars on my F-100.

I have axle wrap both ways under certain conditions. When im towing and have to use torque to pull hard, and when I'm braking hard and they can skid and hop badly...

I have an idea what I can do to remedy the problem. But I want to hear about what others have done.

I found this picture while surfing the web. I'm liking it. I may try to replicate this set up.

That does look like a pretty cool setup. I wonder if you could use a trailer spring bracket like this mount to the top of the U bolts.

Why not just buy some Cal-tracs? I'm not sure of the price but I don't think they are more than $300. Or get a spring pac from a F-250.

Not fond of cal tracs design, too expensive for me. Thought about F250 springs, but I like my ride. And have enough load capacity as is.

IIRC, that set up is available from James Duff Enterprises at a very competitive price to fabbing.

I'd go with ladder bars to get the added stability. I'm going to need some if I put larger tires on the back. Right now I have more power than traction.

Ladder bars would be great, but that's really more work than I want to do, and would be total overkill.

You were right HIO, James duff has the ones like shown above. Although no applications listed for bumps or dents. $99.95 for the kit isn't bad though, and could probably be easily modified to fit a truck.

But looking into it more, I'm not sure that they would fit under the bed floor with the suspension loaded out to the max. I will have to measure later.

I installed the James Duff bars this spring. Haven't had the truck out since I am building a 445 for it and the old 410 is out of it. The fit a bumpside nicely.

Awesome! How does the clearance look between the bed and those spring brackets? And what kit did you use?
