Thanks for comments David. I grew up with these trucks and the Louisvilles Dad having been a trucker him self. I always love the look of the L 8000 set back axles, and the dash panels. As far as it looking like a Dodge I don't see it. If I wanted the look of the Louisville I had to drop the fenders down from the hood. That's the only thing that's simular.
I drew the pic in 1999 of what I wanted a truck to look like. That was a long time ago some things have changed since then but basic plan still there.
I think you've done a great job of copying the red trucks lines and look. Nothing "aero" about it.That it resembles what Dodge did is irrelevant. Dodge copied that kind of big rig-style truck too.
David
The lines perhaps... but not the proportions which, coincidentally, resemble the Dodge. That's the impression that the vast majority of folks will perceive... not the red dump truck pictured above.
If I saw the truck in the street I wouldn't think it looks like a dodge. Does it look similar? Kinda. But it's not the same, or even very close. Dodge isn't the first to design a hood and fenders like that.

I hope you're sticking with the full rear fenders like rendered above... that's the visual balance I was referring to earlier.
Have you thought about a DT360 International engine? It is the same cubic inch as a 5.9 cummins but superior in just about EVERY way. And there is an adapter made to bolt it to a E4OD
Hey Brad I'll be honest I know nothing about diesels. I have a 96 450 with a 460 auto so I think I'm just going to use that drive line. Don't say it I know this truck needs a Diesel but l have the 460 and it would save a lot of money and would be able to get the truck done quicker.
