Any preferred brand 2 stroke oil to add to tank?

Title pretty much asks it, gonna start adding a quart of 2 stroke oil at each fill up, wondering if anyone has any preferred brand they use?

Why?

Why?

Why?

Repeated only because "Why? by itself was too short to make a post on this forum. 10 character minimum, so I went overboard to make sure.

Are you going overboard to make sure your fuel has lubricity?

Because in 3 hours of research lastnight reading on multiple diesel forums, the majority consensus was that its best. Current uls diesel is too dry for the 7.3, biodiesel is not available to me.

95% of what I read claimed 1-2 mpg increase, quieter engine, smoother idle and longer injector life.

How did they measure and compare longer injector life?

If the average injector lasts 250,000 miles, then in order to have a fair comparison, those claiming longer injector life would have had to have put on at least 275,000 miles on their SECOND set of injectors running the two cycle oil, only after running 250,000 miles on straight ULSD, which wasn't universally available and/or mandatorily dispensed nationwide until after 2006, so they would have to have put on significantly more than a half million miles since 2006 in order to validate that claim.

Have you looked into additives such as Stanadyne Lubricity? You will not find me putting two stroke oil into my truck, but I am looking forward to the results of this idea.

Whether or not I have any proof, I figured it can't hurt, I run supertech TCW3 from Walmart, doing so for about 150,000, in both my outboard and add some to my fuel. There are times when I "feel" the injectors are quieter, but have no data to back it up. Like I said for the relatively low cost it can't hurt...

Pretty much what i think Big Al..... Sous, do some research on it, im not trying to convince you to do it, just saying google the topic, try "adding 2 stroke oil 7.3" in the search engine and you will find more threads than u can shake a stick at on the topic which show good results.

Righteous! I deserve that.

I'd have to bring my A game to provide any point worthy enough to consider that would offer balance to 3 hours of reading that corroborates the innate desire we all have to improve something by improvisation... and I doubt I could deliver.

Which is why I haven't put down the idea. I've only questioned it.

ha ha! Righto! Only it's way too late in the game for me to think about bringing that kind of game. An old guy at my wife's old company tried that recently. Ended up dying of heart failure right in the middle of his bar pickup liason. How can you mend a broken heart like that?

He probably should have swallowed his viagra pills with some good two stroke oil... they don't call it two stroke oil for nothing! It takes two to tango. Can we get back on topic and get a brand recommendation please? There are some old geyser's around here that might still benefit, along with their old engines. Needless to say, the old guy's wife and daughter did not attend his memorial service. Got game? Get shame!

It will be a good topic if we can explore specific reasons why two stroke oil is not recommended for augmenting fuel, especially at the rate of one quart per tank... but I think the arguments would have to be really good ones in order to reel you back in!

I have used transmission fluid a couple of times, but that was about it. Other than the additives you buy.
