Craigslist find

I want your guys opinion on this truck I found on Craigslist. It is a 1994 f150 4.9l 5 speed 4x4 and really clean for a New York truck. I really like it and am going to try to go look at it soon. The only thing that scares me is the motor has 210000 miles on it. My current 4.9 5 speed 2wd has 165000. He is trying to sell it for 3k which isn't bad but for the mileage I think a little high tell me what you guys think. http://elmira.craigslist.org/cto/5099018166.html

Okay just wondering why would you walk away because it's a plow truck?

Yes sir...salt, extra wear and tear. No way IMHO. All kinds of hidden corrosion.

Okay thanks I appreciate it. Surprisingly it doesn't look rusty from the pictures but can't tell for sure until I went and looked at it

Bondo can hide a lot. I would say that is a 1500 truck and plan on replacing MANY rusty parts

I've already done plenty of replacing rusty parts on my current f150. I'm sick of it

That depends what you mean by tired. The 4.9 was never any powerhouse and then factor in 200+k, it is far from new

Hidden rust is for sure. I had an 89 F350 that from the outside, it looked like a nice solid truck. As I took it apart, it was a mess. The floor pan was almost gone, the frame had a lot of deep corrosion. Corrosion is expensive.
