460 MAF motor- Discussion on availability
We know that there are a few unicorns from CA still out there somewhere, and in my search for parts for my swap, I have realized how rare they are.
I found a guy with a wrecked, but complete, 97 CA F-250 with the EEC-V PCM and Mass air injection. I am still part way through my swap and found him in my search for an airbox cover, which is the only part I still needed.
The motor is still good, and the airbox cover is the only thing I need from it, so all it would need is a cone filter or FIPK adapter on the MAF housing.
Because it is an EEC-V pcm, it should not be separated from the motor in this truck. They will both swap well into any 96-97 f-250/f-350, but should swap into any 9th gen pickup(150's maybe too). I am almost positive it would need to be mated to an E4OD trans.
This thread should be used for questions about the truck or 460MAF swap questions. I promised the guy I wouldn't give out his info unless I found someone serious about buying. Please PM me if you are interested.

If I had some extra $ laying around I would buy a couple, but have to settle with what I have now. I was able to source every stock part I wanted from a couple different sources in CA. Also, I am nearly done installing my hardware for my mag swap. I'll start a new thread for it when I fire it up, and I'll do a thorough write up when I'm done and know what not to do.

Living in Southern California, I see quite a few of these trucks when I hit the junkyard. If anybody has any questions on Parts, let me know.
The parts that are the hardest to find that are no longer made even in the aftermarket are the air box, air piping, timing cover with special bolting for the crank sensor, the crank sensor itself, and crankshaft counterweight with 4 spoke crank trigger.
You can still get the MaF meter itself, a reman PCM, and interior dash harness from places online.
if you are looking just to do an MAF swap and need a few parts is one thing. But these engines do have a few differences. Vapor management valve instead of vapor canister purge valve, and a DPFE EGR system instead of the standard speed density version found on the older trucks

I did source my parts from Cali, but I did not go with the full on EEC-V/OBD2 route. I am trying to finish tuning mine so I can get back on my MAF swap threads to report back the results. I have only put about 30 miles on since the swap, and have been very impressed so far.

Hopefully you guys can answer my question is found a guy selling all of the mass air parts of a 97 f350 that is a California truck. I live in California, I ended up getting a 93 f350 xlt crew cab 4x4 460 am assuming it has E4od I haven't looked under the truck. will the parts of the 97 f350 will work on my 93 f350 and won't effect the truck the it wouldn't passed smog since the parts are from a 97 and going into a 93 f350. Any feedback back will be great.

I realize after my last post that a huge red flag to a smog inspector is why a '96+ OBD-2 port is on a '93. So passing smog might not be as easy. I dont know what they would say or what's in the rules about factory parts of a different year on it.
I have a 1996 F250 4x4 460 Speed Density E4OD and have everything needed for the swap to a factory MAF setup picked from a yard in Southern California (haven't done it yet.) It came from a 1996 as well so I never thought anything about having trouble passing smog. In my mind the inspector would just assume mine came OBD-2 and test it accordingly.
Interesting note, the setup I got was from a truck built in late 1995 according to the door jam sticker. It doesn't have a smog pump either. Do all the 460 MAF trucks come without a air pump?
