Steering Wheel Installer Tool Needed, '94 F-250

Have a steering wheel puller. Parts house told me the bolt that holds the steering wheel on the shaft can be used to press the steering wheel back on. Will that work, or is a steering wheel installer needed?

Does tip of the puller tool go directly into the hole where the wheel retaining bolt came out? The tip doesn't have threads all the way to the tip. Tip is narrower than the threaded part of bolt, then there's a small bevel just above the narrower tip, before the threads start. Guessing this bevel is where the puller bolt rest in the threaded hole of the shaft, while turning the wrench. Just wanting to make sure so I don't damage that hole in the shaft.

Maybe I'm supposed to put a solid spacer under the puller's tip?

Steering shaft should have a big dimple in the center for the puller tip to set in. A drop of oil there wouldnt be a bad idea. If it doesnt pop loose with a reasonable amount of torque on the puller, smack the puller with a hammer. I bet here are youtube videos explaining it.

There should be a little donut spacer in a puller kit, it goes between the tip of the puller and the shaft

I did have that spacer with a dimple in it for the tip of the puller shaft, but it was a hair too big in diameter - wouldn't work, so I just found a threaded hex nut small enough to fit, and it worked fine. Hole in the hex nut was appropriate size to hold the non-threaded, narrower, tapered tip of the threaded puller shaft.

Thx much ya'll!
