2015 Tailgate Step Handle Delete

I apologize if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere. I searched and didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I've read that once I remove the handle assembly, I need the metal cover panel part # 8C3Z9943121A http://www.ebay.com/itm/391059838929?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT . And the screws.

And that is also known as callout part# 43121 .

My real question is this.... Is this part the same as the older F150 tailgates?

I ask because I can probably find one in a salvage yard for next to nothing.

According to the parts places I've checked, it is the same part number.

If I dont go junk yard, where is the best place to buy new OEM Ford parts now? Last time I bought OEM parts I got them from Tousley Ford. But they appear to be gone now.

Thanks for the replies guys. Knowing I can scavenge from F150's too makes my pool of donors increase A LOT!

Gonna delete the stripper pole, install the 43121 plate in it's place and get it lined like the rest of my bed.

That brings up another question -

My truck came with the factory spray in liner. What aftermarket liner is the closest match as far as texture, color, thickness, etc.... ??

Thanks again guys for the help.

I don't think the F150 will work. Part #'s are different.

If you are looking for the best price on OEM.
He will beat all of their prices.

Here is the info you need.
I buy everything from him, and I live in Florida.

Szott Ford

Ask for the parts department.
Then ask for Dave.

He will take care of you.

I saw a right up on this vary thing on the 6.7 forum. I'm going to get rid of the stripper pole myself. I'll check out my 04 and see if I can swap em. Have an 04 with a stripper pole. LOL

I "borrowed" the tailgate access panel off my 2004 F250 to mock everything up and see how it looked. Fit perfect. Bolted right up.

Now to find one for permanent install so the 04 can be complete again lol.

I hit the local junk yard and found a totaled 2013 without a step. Got the panel and screws for $15.

Now to get the Pop-n-Lock electric lock installed then get the tailgate spray lined to match the bed.
