Got board today on a forced vacation day from work(4 jobs canceled at last minute, 2 crews had to be off...)....

I took apart the spare 89 cluster and modified it for the PSOM speedo.

Perfect fit!!!

I even got the PSOM's "PRNOD1" shift indicator to fit in the 89's cluster. I haven't tried the cluster in the 89 dash yet, might be a small hang up on the left side with the shift indicator next to the cluster mount. I'll find out on the 91 parts truck dash after the rain is over.

I will be using the PSOM face from my 95 E350 bus as it almost looks the same as the older speedo face with the 5 - 15 -25 -35 ect.... instead of the 10 -20 -30 PSOM from the F-series.

I cannot post photos as FTE will not allow me to access my photo gallery here for some reason.
EDIT, finally figured out the photo albums, lost the old galleries though, Here's the 95 E350 with the tach cluster installed. I later on switched the PSOM to the top PSOM to keep the cluster looking the same.

Once I get the camera charged up, I'll get photos of the 89 cluster.

Here's more of my PSOM speedometer into a 89 to 91 cluster.

This is with a E-series PSOM speedometer, the van's had the 5 -15 -25...... readout and also a checkerboard finish to the face(hard to see in photo, looks matted). It's a better match than the F-series speedometer

Center is the original 89 speedometer, right is the 92+ F-series speedometer.

E4OD shift indicator is installed

Rear side, I see a possible clearance issue with the E4OD shift indicator on the right side center of photo. Very close to the mounting hole. Might have to clearance the dash to fit it in.

Question Same Problem

Hi. i've been reading though your process on the e40d. I have the same issue old owner put rebuilt e4od in truck but wrong year for truck. His lost my gain I hope. I'm a little unsure of how you hooked up the VSS and the newer speedo into wire loom and at what point where. I have got together all the parts you had talked about in your post. Now have plug the trigger and go. Any thing you did that you wish you didnt do with the set up you did. Any pictures of where you tie everything in to make work.
Thanks
