Chrome clad wheel options ?

Has anyone found a way to replace or re finish the chrome clad wheels?

I have a 2012 xlt with the chrome package. The chrome on the rims started to bubble. Ford refused to replace them under warranty. ( I guess the cost is too high.) I did not even know they could do that but they did.

So I am trying to come up with something to make the truck look good again.

Any pictures or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I already did. I talked to a customer service manager. He offered me a discount on an extended warranty. But that warranty still would not cover the rims on my truck that are still under factory warranty.
As much as I love Ford and Ford trucks Im pretty sure this will be the last.

I've had Ford replace all kinds of chrome plated parts before even on my 2011. The issue that I see with the chrome clad wheels is that Ford can't prove how they were cleaned, what solvents if any were used and the environmental issues t hat wheels come in contact with.

Not defending Ford, I think it's a raw deal for sure. Just trying to think like they may be thinking.

I would continue to push back.

I don't know what else I can do at this point.

They did come back with that the first time. That I must have used a non approved cleaner. When I asked for a list of cleaners they would approve they came back with it must be from brake dust.

I can provide over 100 pictures of the truck over the past two and a half years and it has always been clean and never had any brake dust build up.

There is a specific Ford customer service number you can call that takes you much higher up the chain where you can explain the situation and be very adamant with them that they should replace the wheels. We have a resource like this for our VW customers, it's amazing how much more corporate staff care than dealership staff. If i can track down the number i will let you know via PM.

Thanks I may end up just getting those. That is still half what Ford wants for replacement rims. Plus why buy rims that will fail in two and a half years anyway.
