Wow, what an awesome post and thank you for taking the time with this.

Weight distribution - this shouldn't be an issue. We were more worried about tongue weight since our 60gal fresh water tank and both holding tanks are all the way up front but I think that issue has been resolved. The bathroom shouldn't have much weight at all with a toilet, shower and the small cabinet that is mainly accessible from the living area. The kitchen was Steve's biggest concern but I found some light weight wood that will work for the cabinets, enough so that I can have the 4' solid surface countertop I want. The 4' kitchen cabinet, 28" micro/stovetop cabinet, fridge cabinet and living/bath closet will all be made out of this wood.

The bed will be much heavier but it sits over the axles and assists in evening out some of the tongue weight.

The 2'x8' rear storage is mainly for chairs, pop-up shade tents and coolers. On the rare occasion that we need a generator, we have a little Honda 3000 that we'll throw back there. Steve decided to build a battery box on the tongue and only have one propane tank. That's all we use now and have never ran out of gas. I don't cook inside and we don't use the heat much.

As for getting rid of this camper, neither of us can see that happening. I figure any distribution issues will be between our kids.

My build is way less in depth than yours! I have always wanted to do something similar though......Looks pretty awesome so far!

That was clever! LOL!

Hollywood pays good money for that kind of quick wit. Load up that trailer and move to Beverly!

Thanks guys.

We're still on hold so other than buying the LED lights for inside and out, there is no further progress yet.

Steve needs to figure out when he can take another week off work and I know our friend is slammed with work because he's doing a lot of work for the company I work for. Some reason stainless steel countertops are in right now.

I hope within the next month or two they can at wrap up the shell. Once that's done and we can bring it home things should go much quicker because it will be on Steve & I to do.

You might want to look at using spray polyurethane foam for insulation. It's light, and just as importantly, works to stiffen the entire structure. This would let you get away without using a substrate under the skin and still provide structure underneath. My wife's insulation company sprays high-end horse trailers with living quarters for a few custom builders, and the builders and their clients love the spray foam. Just a thought.

Hi Guys. Sorry its been awhile but nothing on the camper could get done until Steve had time off from work. Well, he took the week after Thanksgiving and the Christmas & New Year weeks so I finally have some progress pictures to share. BTW, Happy New Year.

Roof Frame is Completed.

Wheel Wells Fitted.

Wheel Wells Complete.

Floor Boards Fitted. They're not screwed down yet because they had to be removed so they didn't get weather damage.

The First Wall Panel is Up.

All of the Side Panels are on. Its really starting to look like something.

The Rear Doors are Almost Complete. I like this photo with the feet hanging out the back floor. The guy's actually helping position the latches.

The Rear Doors are Done (no feet this time).

That's where we are at right now.

We have the awning on order and I picked up the foam insulation today.
