Burning smell in cab all day?

I smelled it this morning and when driving home and it almost smells like wires burning and its pretty strong. I looked all around the dash and can even smell it under the hood. Anyone ever have this before? And by the way the cruise control recal was done on it so it shouldnt be that. Hopefully my truck doesnt catch on fire over night lol

I had that problem, but I stopped listening to Bob Marley and it went away.

But seriously; I'd start with a close look at the fuses with a strong flashlight. One should be toast and that circuit needs to be inspected.

You sure it isn't oil or tranny fluid on the exhaust?

Electrical or burning odors inside the truck, under the dash, etc are nothing to mess with particularly if you have an attached garage. Keep a full sized extinguisher handy.

Here's a thought anyway: Disconnect battery completely when vehicle is unattended, till it gets sorted out.

if you have a USB changer check that too. They can stink things up pretty bad when they fry.

You may wish to find an IR Thermometer. When you smell it, begin checking the Fuse Block and move on from there.

Ps: If you find an area in the fuse block that is higher in temperature, begin with that circuit.

Hope this helps!

Didnt get time to check anything today because my brother had the truck but he also stated that the battery light was on. Im starting to think it could be something with the alternator now. I will look into that as well. Thanks

I had a similar burning smell and it turned out to be a plastic grocery bag that was stuck and melting to the exhaust pipe under the truck.
