Give yourself some time on that project. Just recently did that and it took me 2 days to get the pedestal / turbo off. Thought I had every tool needed .. I was wrong and had to make a few. Once off I upgraded my upper electric fuel system and installed the EBPV deleted pedestal and hi-flow coupler to down pipe. Only took me 1 hour to reinstall new pedestal and turbo.

Good grief, never want to go thru that again, I'm still healing ...

lol. Lol. I remember doing that to. A lot of penetrating oil and head scratching went into that project. Custom tools were made on my end too lol

This is ONE job I paid to have done. I just didn't have the time or the desire to put myself out like that.

I've done it two times, now I'm looking at a third. Maybe I'll hire it out like you Bryon!

It wasn't bad Glenn. Guy charged me $190 for labor. Saving my hands and the time/frustration was more than worth it to me.

Yeah, and on top of that, it was a local guy who does 90% of his work on 7.3s. He's drives a 2000 SD, but is very knowledgeable about the OBS. He said he had the turbo off in about 45 min. He did say it wasn't "welded" on there though like they can be. All the bolts came out pretty easily.

Your location says SoCal, this guy wouldn't happen to be in San Diego would he?

Ask me how I know about pulling the turbo, I got the pleasure of pulling it 2 times last week in a camp ground, and I did it a few months ago too, I'm becoming an expert!!! lol

One thing I will say is make sure to never seize the snot out of the hardware when you put it back together. Makes future dis assembly a breeze.

Great looking truck! I'll be looking forward to watching your progress!

Edit: also put some grease on the o-rings when you set them in their respective holes, my lack of doing that was the reason it had to come back apart, its very easy to bump them out of place, then you will have yourself a real mess.

honestly ive done 2, both coming off were factory pedestal with ebpv, and both times going back on were post ebpv delete and goes easy.

I really wasnt impressed with the hype of difficulty everyone said it would be. I have them out within 45 minutes to an hour.

i take the down pipe clamp lose and push downpipe to side,

then remove the exhaust housing from the turbo with the 3 12 point bolts.

then for the 4 pedestal bolts i use a 1/4 inch drive 10mm swivel socket with an extension, and then sometimes an adapter to 3/8 drive if they are really on there. only had to do that twice.

and for the 4 flange bolts i use a 3/8 drive 15mm swivel with and extension for 3 of 4 flange bolts, and on the fourth i use a small stubby box wrench,
and walla its off.

alot easier going back on with the ebpv cylinder out of the way

Yep I got the swivel sockets on order!

BTW, are you running those 35s on stock ALCOAs?

that'sthe way to do it, the swivels help a ton, i went into it thinking id have to create some custom tools but i did great with what i just listed

i do however understand peoples level of difficulty varies a bunch, and i have been wrenching for awhile, its all relative to ability and comfort doing this stuff

yes factory alcoas!! I love them!

Nice truck, Matt! My only difficulty was the nut that you used the stubby wrench on. I had to weld up a custom tool to be able to put a cheater pipe on it to get enough torque to break it loose. In the end my moment arm was about 2.5 ft.
