Approximate cost of having a new timing chain/gear installed.

On my 94 5.8 club wagon?

I have a pretty bad rear seal leak that I was quoted around $1000 to fix because they have to drop the trans.

Thanks.

depends on your location. The guy I use charges a basic $300 plus parts (which I provide) and so it would be about 6-700$ for labor and parts. You go to a dealer shop and you can expect 2-3 times the cost. Find a good indy shop with recommendations from others and see what they want. I paid $700 for rear main install, but it was not leaking, and he put the clutch, slave flywheel in because it all had to be pulled anyhow. The next was a leaking pan gasket so He pulled the engine up enough to get pan off. I got a new oil pump while he was in there again no cost to install since he had pan off. Just need to see who does quality work and how much they will charge ya.
