2001 4.6 DOHC rebuild thoughts
I have a 4.6 out of a 01 cobra that i am going to be putting into a 48 F1 pick up.
The motor ran well when the mustang got into a accident, the driver side valve cover got broken when the brake booster hit it, but other wise it runs and ran fine when in the mustang. It has 93K on it and did smoke upon start up at times which probably could use valve guides.
Id like to go through it and make sure its ready for a good run in its new home. Any one with decent knowledge in the modular platforms feel free to chime in.
Also I have the original key so keeping the pats immobilizer system is okay, what is recommended? trying to just use the original engine harness and ecu? or just getting a conversion harness to make the job easier
