my du-ha under seat bin came in. pics made it appear deeper than it really is, but i suppose there is only so much depth under the seat, so it is what it is. is it overpriced for a plastic bin? sorta, but im gonna keep it. after i ordered i found a thread on a dodge forum where i guy used 2 by's to partition off a storage section under his rear bench seat for storage, so stuff wouldn't slide out from that area, but this looks OEM for the most part, so im sticking with it. hard to tell in the pics, but it comes pre drilled with 2 holes to secure the Du-ha bin down, using the stock bolts that held the OEM metal tray in place, but i decided to drill 4 more holes and use all 6 stock bolts rather than just the 2 factory drilled holes that were at the rear of the bin, so the front of the bin was still not completely secured down. its very secure now with all 6 bolts.
overall i like it, i've been testing different tool boxes/totes/bags to find one i like for my more common tools that i always take with me. i tried the open tote things from home depot, then i returned and got the Ridgid tube style tool box for $20, which i loved, but it was too hard to fit easily in the rear seat floor area, so i just returned that and picked up this Husky bag with all kinds of compartments and loops for screwdrivers etc, and i really like it, it fits nicely in the back seat, and i think this is the one im sticking with. between the du-ha holding most of the tools, i can load up whatever i need from the du-ha into the husky bag and go.

also, this happened yesterday, about 40-50 miles from my house...
since ford decided putting a lock on the spare tire was a good idea, being that this is a used truck and i didn't know there was a lock, the lock was no where to be found, so i couldn't get the tire down. i couldn't have even changed myself anyhow, i had almost 3 pallets of tile in the bed. only way i could have was to drive the inner tire up on a curb, but that may have not been a good idea (ive heard it can be done, just not the safest way)
so luckily, there was a tire shop at the next exit, so i drove very slow to the shop and since i couldn't get the spare out, i didn't wanna cut the cable and break it, so i had no choice but to buy the only used tire he had (was a tad smaller too, but enough to get me home). so 6 new tires is on my list, and im pricing out if its better for me to go through insurance for the fender ($950 new through ford) or buy used on craigslist or something. my deductible is $500, and im not sure if Geico will just cut me a check, or make me use specific repair shops or what. if i can get them to cut me a check for the brand new OEM fender, and get a body guy i know to write a quote to paint it and install it, i could get a used one and put the extra money towards 6 new tires

so i've been wanting to build some ramps for anything i need to roll in/out of the bed. usually hand carts with stuff on it, lawn mowers, etc.
I ordered this:
i was gonna buy that kit at home depot, but the one in stock was the same thing, but only the top pieces, so for a few more bucks i wanted to have the angled bottom pieces as well.
there seems to be a good bit of space under the cab. im trying to figure out if i can somehow bolt (using pre-existing holes in the frame) or weld hooks to hang the two 2x12 ramps (not sure how long im going to make them yet) that way i always have them on the truck with me. trying to avoid just throwing them in the bed and leaving them there, they likely will get stolen pretty quick, plus they'd be in the way.
anyone done this (or used under the cab to store anything similar before)?
i know if i leave them at my house and take them as needed, there's gonna always be times that i get somewhere and need them, and left them at the house lol.

Ok guys..i need tires asap. I really really really wanted 315/75/16s, but it's not looking good. I don't think I'm going to be able to afford it at the moment. Plus the spacers are 370 (freds solid steel ones that everyone recommends) and the cheapest bfg a/t 315/75s i can find are 247 each...times 6..plus 370 spacers. Just outta the question for now as much as i don't want to believe it :-(
What is the biggest (height and width, mainly width) i can fit on the stock rims on my 04 dually, WITHOUT spacers, unloaded or loaded? I don't own any travel trailers or anything, just a 16' enclosed as well as a 16' open trailer, the enclosed being the heaviest thing I'd ever tow.
Ill just have to wait until next time to get larger tires and spacers. But i really want bigger than 235/85, they just look so skinny to me
Help me out guys!

excuse my ignorance, but will something like this work to "level" the front of my dually to fit the 315/75s? i do not want to spend a lot, because when these new tires need replacing, i want to lift 6" and do 37s, so i will do a complete suspension lift at that time.
this came up when i searched parts for 2004 f350 on summit racing:
2004 FORD F 350 SUPER DUTY Pro Comp Poly Lift Kits PLF09101 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
also, if i was to raise the back at all (if i feel the need after the tires are on and after my first heavy tow/haul), i can just replace the stock rear block with a taller one right? i've read people replace it with a 5" block? not sure how tall the stock one even is.
before ordering anything for the front, i will wait to hear from you guys. i think that pro comp spacer will work but i am not 100% sure.
need to figure out what i need and order it so it can get here next week, i want to put my new tires on as soon as i can. im going to order rear wheel spacers as well now.

wait...those wont work will they? those look like they are for a spring from 05+, not my 2004. why did they come up on summit under 2004 lol...unless i am wrong??
i basically need the cheapest front level i can do to clear these 315/75/16s (2" is usually what a "leveling kit" consists of, right?)
thanks!!

cant wait to install them. the planned setup will be these 6 315/75/16s all around, level the front so they fit, 3" spacers in the rear (i know 2 will work, but i want the widest stance i can get), and for the front, im doing something a little bit different, granted it works out how i have it pictured in my head.
i want the front wheels to have a wider offset than they do stock, and i will not put spacers on top of the already factory spacers on the truck. so my thinking is, instead of getting aftermarket wider wheels like i see a lot of dually guys doing now, and removing the stock spacer (running a normal wheel, like 16x10 with a wide offset to achieve the wide look im after), my plan is to put my stock excursion 16x7 wheels on the front, but WITH the dually spacer still installed. if it works out how i have it pictured in my head, the 16x7 stock excursion wheel with 4.5" backspacing, bolted to the stock dually front spacer, will stick out past the fender at least 2.5-3 inches, maybe more, which is the exact look i want. and the stock excursion wheels will match the stock dually rear wheels pretty good in style and in finish. the only thing is it wont appear to look like a true dually wheel, since it's not. this is the front wheel offset i am wanting to achieve on my dually.
before putting the new tires on the excursion wheels, i will test mount one to see how it looks on the truck with the dually spacer. i will post pics when i do.

quick photoshop of my excursion rim on the f350. doesn't look too too bad...yea i prefer a real dually wheel up front cosmetically, but when i actually put the excursion wheel on, if it gives me the "stance" up front that i want, i think that'll make up for the fact that its not a dually style wheel. my buddy is on the way now to help me test fit one, i can't do it myself, i just had neck surgery a week ago and i'm in a neck collar for 12 weeks
i do like how the finish of the wheel will match perfectly (not so much in the pic because of the sun and it being 2 different pics), as well as the little holes in the wheel almost are the same shape on both OEM wheels. i may even use the stock dually center cap on the excursion wheel and see how it looks, rather than the different looking excursion cap.
