6.7 Coolant Question

Thanks, I have a 6.0 now with 123,000 on the clock and all I've ever known it to have in it is the Ford Gold (i do maintain it). I have read and heard many bad things about the FG but my truck is a stock engine and the FG seems to be working fine for me. I was just curios as to what the 6.7's was running. I didn't take into account the fact that the 6.7 is a totally different platform and can't be compared to a 6.0

All the engines built by Navstar for ford, use the Nitrite based coolant.
The new 6.7L engine built by Ford uses an OAT based coolant that has NO nitrites in the coolant. That is why it is important not to mix the two coolant types.
OAT stands for Organic Acid Technology. You can google it and learn more about how it is different than Silca or Nitrite based coolant.
