Just bougt 1963 F250

I had just recently bought a 1963 F250 2wheelD and wanted to know if there is any way to easily tell if its the 4.8 or 5.4. Lastly is there anything I should look out for i.e. common problems I could encounter while restoring it. Any information would be appreciated and if anyone has any parts for sale let me know

A 63 F250 should have one of these three engines if it's stock.
223CID I 6
262CID I 6

332 Lincoln big truck engine. Note the oil filler goes into the block. The 292 filler goes into the intake gallery.

The engine was standard equipment on the Ford F-800, F-900, T-750, T-800, C-800, and C-900 Series heavy duty trucks.[7]
From WIKI....
The V8 should be a 292 Y block in a 250. The Lincoln based 332 was a big truck engine.
This is skidrulz 1964 292. 1963 should be similar.

292, 2-bbl carb, in '61 F-350. Although you never know if your truck's engine has been swapped out over the years, one starting point is to post a good photo of your truck's warranty plate (lots of people call it the VIN plate) on this forum and ask if someone such as Number Dummy can de-code it for you. It will, at minimum, tell you what was in the truck when it left the factory.
