Truck died on me, need a little help

So I'm down to one tank, as the rear is pulled to install the 38gal F26E tank. And it's been running rough on the front tank, currently its sitting on the side of the road waiting on a tow truck. Tank is 60% full I went to turn onto the freeway and the truck fell on its face, no power and it soon died. I had this issue a while back but after changing the oil, and fuel filter u haven't had any issues. Oil is fine, fuel filter is fine, could be a CPS, I have a spare one in the glove box I can try. When I try to start it sounds like it wants to turn over but never does. Just looking for ideas. So crank and no start.

***edit*** replaced the CPS and still the same symptoms, could be two bad CPS's but I'm ruling it out. Next would be fuel pump I'm guessing. possibly the HPOP???? im really needing some help here guys.

Where in az are you?
Was the CPS a ford or international one?

Also, check fuel pressure at the fuel bowl.

Are you getting the WTS light?

Basics:
* Are you getting the WTS light?
* Is the tach moving while you crank?
* Any smoke while you crank?
* If you crank it for several seconds, does the oil pressure "gauge" eventually move?

OK the tach moved but i dont think it ever moved above 250-300, CPS is a Motorcraft, I get a WTS light, didnt notice any smoke, and the oil pressure gauge does move when i crank. I get an engine temp light and a fuel filter light by the WTS light, I havent had a chance to dig into the truck as i didnt get home until 8 and had to be at work at 4. I did check the fuel filter and didnt see anything that struck me as unusual, it was clean.

Lastly im in Laveen Az, which is basically south west Phoenix. and Madpogue ill be in madison next month for a class at the university if you wanna grab a beer or something.

Have you been getting that rain where your at? Maybe you've got water in the IDM as funny as that sounds being from AZ.

More likely is the fuel pump. You need bare minimum 20 psi cranking to start.

Turn the key on without turning the motor over for 2 minutes. The CEL should come on. This way we can verify that your CEL bulb is not blown.

havent had much rain here, a bit humid but rain no so much. I will hopefully get a chance to check fuel pressure tomorrow, today in my birthday and im not canceling my plans to deal with the truck today. Today i get to deal with issues at the dairy, seems like our agitator goes out once a week and the dairy manager is... well... lazy...

Happy Birthday. I don't blame you for putting off the truck. Its always something on the farm. I didn't think there was much ag in AZ.

We have 4400 cows, 2200ish being milked right now. We produce about 16k to 18k gallons a day. United dairymen of Az is pretty big. There's some really nice new dairies west of us. Other than. That lots of corn and Cotton grown out here.

So is everyone else thinking fuel pump too?

Jeez. I'm almost that big . I've got 240 including calves. Milking 100. But it doesn't seem to make any difference how big the farm is. There's always lots to do. Definatly check the fuel pressure.

Yeah we get paid depending on butter fat content we average around 3.58 a year, little dip in the fat content in the spring with new feed but production goes up. We also bottle our own milk in glass containers. Www.danzeisendairy.com

Same here. My bf is usually averages 3.75 and I can usually hold a 40 kilo average. Not bad IMO. I'm down a bit from the heat. It's been 95* here lately and I am down to 38 kilos. Farming is a bit different in Canada though. Quota sure limits but also garranty's our sales.

Yeah here is different we actually loose money 3 months a year. When our cow have high production and lower BF in the spring.

That's the nice thing with quota. The income is steady.
