Thoughts on '87 EFI
#16
I guess I was not thinking this all the way through, are you saying that I could just use all the accessory brackets (PS, AC, Alt) from the '87 300 and they will bolt up (with the serpentine belt) to the older engine? The engine from the '87 has close to 300k miles on it and is probably in need of a rebuild. But if I could continue to drive it and find an older 300 to rebuild over time and then swap the rebuilt engine into the truck and just bolt on the options from the '87 motor, that could prove to be helpful.

That's what I'm doing on my two projects. You'll need to use the EFI engine's balancer, waterpump & pulley along with the brackets and accessories. I prefer the low maintenance of the serpentine set up over the old V-belts.
