New F250 - 2 questions
Hey all. Been reading the forum for a while but just joined. I recently purchased a 2015 F250 Lariat, 4x4 CC Short Bed diesel and have a couple of questions.
1. I noticed the payload on the sticker is listed at 1877 lbs. Does this seem low to anyone? I didn't pay too much attention to it initially because I don't have immediate towing needs, but eventually would like to purchase an entry level TT or small fifth wheel. I realize the options on the truck impact it, but I didn't think it would be under 2k lbs....(truck came with fifth wheel prep, spray in bed liner, lariat ultimate package, chrome package, 20" wheels, engine block heater, rapid heater, dual alternators, rear seat heater).
2. The Automatic Climate Control does not appear to be adjusting to meet the set temperature. Was 86 degrees outside, and it kept the fan at low speed even though i cranked the temp all the way down. Does the engine have to be warmed up or something before this kicks in? Obviously I will mention it to the dealer when I have it in for service, but didn't know if I might be overlooking something else.
Thanks, and look forward to learning from everyone on the board.

Congrats on new Truck!
The 2015 Ford Guide shows your truck configuration (F-250 Styleside Pickup, Crew Cab, 4x4, 6.7L, 156.2" long) as having a Max Payload of 2610 lbs. However, there's a footnote that says: "Load rating represents maximum allowable weight of people, cargo, and body equipment, and is reduced by optional equipment."
Then they say to always refer to the door sticker for your specific vehicle
(I've heard that those heated/cooled seats are heavy )

Congrats. I used to have a 26' Dutchman and it only weighed 5500# empty. You can do conventional towing of a pretty big rig with no issue. Most dedicated 5th wheel guys go with a DRW 350, though the SRW 350 seems to be getting more and more use. Payload in most trucks is less than their owners/users think. A 250 is often called a 3/4 ton... so you're actually a few hundred pounds over that. Keep in mind, your truck has a bigger (heavier) body than a regular cab... and keep in mind fuel and people need to be factored as part of your payload. Payload is another reason why Ford trucks are going to be so far ahead of everyone come '17 with our whole lineup being AL bodied. You won't have any trouble camping with this nice truck. Optioning heavier springs than what you need is even less useful than voice activated navigation.

I just got a F250 and I need it to tow my 14,000 loaded 5th wheel. I purposely didnt go with all the options you did because of the towing capabilities. I found the crew cab to lose lots of cargo weight over the super cab which is what I got. Also No need for a sky light in the truck. Got one in the car and its closed most of the time. The 20 inch wheels limit the weight the truck can carry. I did lots of research before I pulled the trigger. I didnt get everything I wanted but very close. I wanted the garage opener which should be standard and the goose neck prep package. I also wanted the clearance lights. It's a $55 option and dealers should just put them on all F250's. If a customer cant pay $1 more in a payment on a $60,000 truck he cant afford the truck.

Yea, the air feels cool, it just doesn't seem to regulate to the correct temp when on auto. I'll just use manual until I have them look at it on the first oil change.

If I enjoy it I'll get a 350 drw when the 17s come out and upgrade the trailer then.
