Cost to Install full AC?
I have no AC on my 1979 F100 and the wife wont get in the damn thing until AC is installed (106 degrees this weekend - jeez).
I've seen the nostalgic / vintage air systems and I could do most of the work like adding new vents etc but the hose and engine system kinda freaks me out. I've had a couple quotes both in the $4000 - $5000 range to install.
Does this sound about right? (especially in the SF Bay Area)

A neighbor had a Vintage Air system installed in his '57 Stude Hawk 6-8 years back. All the work was done at one of the major radiator and A/C shops in the Portland, Oregon area and they also supplied all the parts and pieces.
Total bill was in the $4,000. range, and included a bit of radiator work as well.
While $4K-$5K is a lot of coin, it sounds about right, based on the work my neighbor had done.
Hope this helps.

As a DIY, figure about $1200.
Nostalgic AC - 1973 - 1979 Ford F-Series Truck A/C Only System - Ford Complete Kits - Complete A/C Kits
You'll quickly overspend or go broke the more work you farm out.
... at $4000, ya might as well buy a decent 92-96 F150 with AC, PS, PB, PW and ABS.
