Y-block Guys, I got a good deal
At least I think I did...........Old timer sold me this intake ***'y for $75.
He owned a Ford dealership and ran a '56 Ford, changing the motor many times........292, 312, 390, 427. This intake was removed from a 1957 312 so he could install a Ford supercharger. He rebuilt the carb 25 years ago and never ran it.
I'll run it on my 292 F250, 1964.

75 bucks is a roaring bargain! Over 30 years ago I sold one of these manifolds for 200 bucks to a guy w/a 1956 T-Bird, so he could replace the original POS Holley 'tea pot' 4V.
This is definitely not the original 1956 manifold, because it used the Holley "tea pot" 4V
The 1957 and newer Holley 'double pumper' 4V won't bolt to the 1956 manifold, because the tea pot/manifold has a different bolt pattern.
The tea pots were also used on 1957 Ford/Thunderbird with factory installed dual quads (E VIN engine code) and supercharger (F VIN engine code).
1955 4V manifolds are one year only because the automatic choke is located on the manifold itself.
Here's two pics (upper/lower) of the "tea pot" carb, how it got this name, I dunno. Seen it used many times here on FTE
But, for many years, people that owned cars with this Holley 4V called it the "toilet bowl" carb, because it was a notorious POS!

I didn't do quite as good. We just had the Old Ford V8 club swap meet in Spokane over the weekend. First booth I stopped at I found this for $30 for both the carb and manifold. Not sure what the large 2bbl manifolds sell for but I figured for the price I could not go wrong. I also got a little bit of an education on Yblocks from the gentleman that sold me the manifold and carb.
Large 2bbl for the Yblock. Replace the teapot 2bbl in my 57.
