The green wire connects to what?

Yes, from what I understand, it sends a signal back to the alternator to kick on. You may also need to tap into the white stator wire if your running an electric choke.

Appreciate the info. Hit a snag with the mounting brackets on the 300 six. So it will be tomorrow or the next day before I get to finish. Will keep you posted.

The green wire with red stripe is key on hot. Same ford wire color code for a ton of years uses that for key on hot FYI.

Yeah, found it today at the two wire plug. The engine is a 300 6cyl. and the alt bracket hits the top of the alternator. Sooooo... I either have to fab something or modify the existing bracket.

You'll have to extend the lower bracket out.

This is the stock lower alternator bracket from my '69 F100 with a 240 inline six.



I found another identical lower bracket in the wrecking yard and cut off the slotted end of the wrecking yard bracket. I butt welded the slotted portion onto the tip of my stock bracket, to extend it out, for the '94 Mustang 3G alternator I have.
