Smile 99-Conversion Van Rear AC & HT Blower Malfunctioning

Hello, I have a 99-E250 extended conversion version van. It was converted by the 707 group which is no longer around... Van has same front panel for AC & HT controls that all vans in this time frame have. My problem is though the front HT & AC blower is working fine, only recently the rear blower (located on the passenger side within the far rear panel of the van) has stop working. When removed and tested directly to 12 volt power source (battery) it works fine. So I am looking at other options (rear switch itself or fuse; located somewhere??). Normal fuse panel's, fuses, located under dash & under engine hood all are fine.. SO I am guessing it is the rear switch itself, or an inline fuse I cannot seem to locate? If you can offer any insight, please contact me here or email me directly at JimB@Agde.Com. I thank you in advance for any constructive direction offered... Jim B

If you have photos of the electrical connector leading to the rear blower motor that might be helpful.

I'd also do an online check for 707 schematics. That company seemed kinda solid so supporting documentation might be available still.

Wow, that was fast! Thank you... By your suggestion of looking at connectors to potentially send pics I had noticed before but only realized that one in line connector had a tie wrap and when I cut it off to look deeper at it I noticed there was a 15 amp fuse that had blown... I replaced the fuse and now the blower is working... the motor seems noisy though and I think I need to purchase another one and not certain as to where exactly... But I THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INSIGHT PROVIDED RIGHT DIRECTION FOR ME TO CORRECT... Jim Bo

I'm a fricking genius-----or just downright plain dumb lucky!

Glad you got your issue solved---a good learning lesson should this happen again. If it doesn't don't be tempted to substitute a larger rating fuse---find the reason the fuses are blowing.

Thanks for the update too!

An alternator and starter shop should be able to repair the motor if it's not a Ford item.

Again I appreciate your insight!! Especially the larger fuse..... There is one motor attaching to two cylindrical blower blades; one on its; left and the other on its' right.. The problem I believe is one or two fins on the one of the blower blades are broken and this is causing the light rattling at the high speed.. But I think I will take the motor to a alternator/starter repair shop regardless. Most people do not realize that when a starter goes it usually only requires a new set of brushes in lieu of a completely new starter or rebuilt one.... Jim Bo

If the motor is running consistently then its fine---the squirrel cage blower wheels might be individually replaceable but that would require knowing what brand aftermarket heater is installed.

This is where a photo would be handy. Pro-Air and Twin Air are both somewhat large in van auxiliary heaters, both selling replacement parts if its one of their units.
