I would recommend getting this book on CD. It is well worth the money.
1948-56 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog CD - HiPo Parts Garage

Also getting a shop manual is always helpful. Although with a different engine, it doesn't do quite as much.

You can also get the shop manual on cd which is cheaper, but I like holding the book. I probably need both though....
Thanks so much I'll order those.

A big FTE welcome from California. Your plans for your truck are much like mine, I've enjoyed driving it almost the entire time that I've been working on it 10 plus years now with the exception of during trans and paint work. Any way welcome to the family. "PS" your truck is much nicer than mine was when I started, your in for lots of enjoyment.

Hey Keith,
Welcome Aboard!
Great to see another '50 getting saved. I also have a couple of girls
- it's nice to escape to the truck when they start talking about fabric, dresses, bookstores, etc.

It's unusual to have the larger front F2 fenders on an F1. Do you have the Vin#? To see how it started out life. Have you got it running?

You can pretty much tell if they are F1 or larger just by looking at them.

On the F2 and larger fenders the seam is straight and you can see the opening is visibly larger and opens above the seam

Notice how the seam turns down on the F1 and the opening is visibly smaller

Thanks Ben, it runs like a top. Starts as soon as you hit the button. The plate on the firewall says, 98RC360434. I'll check the frame when I get a chance.

Harleymsn, I see the difference. Mine has a small section about an inch that turns down. Definitely not as pronounced as your pics. I'll get pics later this week. Doing a bunch of doubles this week at work. Trying to get some extra cash to put in her.

Regards, Keith.
