Has anyone found a source for a round muffler? Seems like everyone is sold of them.

Check out Flowmaster. I have one on my '50 254 six cyl. Nice deep tone like a throbbing gristle. Not harsh at all.

Explain what a throbbing gristle sounds like. I will be needing a muffler for my 54 239 soon and was thinking of a muffler that would enhance the sound of my Y-block.

It's like, um, well...., . If you have to ask why people ride motorcycles, then you just don't understand. There's two videos in my picture album that depict the sound with and without the muffler. I'll get a better sound bite video when I get back over to the truck. But bear in mind it's going to sound different with eight cylinder pulses instead of six.
To clarify, my muffler is oval, not round, but Flowmaster does make round ones.
Well. Can't do videos on this forum. Shucks.

Anyone know how to post videos?

muffler

NAPA told me that they dont offer a round muffler any more. They looked in their books and come up with nothing. Flowmasters are too much $$$.

Round, quiet, cheap are mutually exclusive attributes.

I'd suggest you find the oldest parts guy at the NAPA store or find another NAPA store. They show tons of round mufflers online. Here is just one...
