Key fob question

I have an 04 that I bought new without a key fob to lock/unlock the doors. Is there a way I can add that now? I tried the trick of turning the key off and on 8 times to program the locks but that didn't do anything

Don't know about the F250. The F150 required 2 working keys to go through the sequence to program the 3rd. If you don't have 2 keys than it required a dealer visit.

did you look in the owners manual for any ideas on how program a fob? Is this fob an aftermarket one?

What model is your truck? Is it an XL? You said you bought it new. If your truck was able to have the keyless entry, it would have come with the fob's.

The thing about remote fobs is having the right one. Ford used a few different fobs over the years. You need to have the fob with the right FCC ID if you have remote entry on your truck. I have no idea where to find out the correct FCC ID for a truck or car unless you can find it on the RKE module.

My truck is an XLT , I had read that if you cycle your ignition from Run to off 8 times then the locks will cycle locked and unlocked. That sends the program code to the fob. My truck does not cycle the locks when I cycle the ignition 8 times

Did you start the programming sequence by keeping "your foot off the brake, close all doors, and press the unlock button on the door itself"?

Go to this Ford website and click the Vehicle tab at top and then enter your VIN. If it finds your build information, click on the "expand minor features" on the right side. Look to see it you have anything about remote or entry or keyless

https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do#

If it locates the build on your truck and can pull up the info, if nothing about remote entry or keyless is listed, then you don't have the RKE module/antenna.
