looking at an 04 f350 6.0

So i went and drove this, has low miles (39k) but the 04 and 6.0 kinda scares me. What should i look for, or should i steer clear? It drove well, and if i get it, I'd hope to get a very long life out of it (mainly as a daily driver, won't be towing all the time with it or beating it up dailywith heavy loads or anything)

looking forward to opinions from you guys. Cosmetically it had some scratches but for now it would be fine and eventually i could paint it, maybe use it as an excuse to put a newer tailgate and 08 front end on it!

1st. Get a carfax report. Check the underneath. Ask for service records. If chipped and otherwise stock. Stay away. If built after 03 of 2004 basic engine should be ok.

Here's a link to the carfax. Looks like its always been in FL, so should be no rust.

I didn't see a chip or anything, looked 100 percent stock.

Door jamb photo shows 01/04 as the date.

There should be a tag on the engine for its build date.

Look at the oil filter. If it looks oem filter cover then more than likely used Ford filters. If can get into service records check to see if fuel filters was changed ev r y 10K. These engines are very touchy on fuel cleanliness and volumes.
I have found on a 3k run and getting fuel wherever I have very dirty fuel filters. A friend of mine said he normally sees injectors put in by his shop by 150K. I have 200k and no problems.

If built in early 04 should be good but get more info as I put in other post. Just about sounds too good to be true. But they are out there!

Might want to ask this question in the 6.0 engine area. There are some techs monitoring there sometimes.
