got some new shoes for 66 longbed

I have see lots of interesting rim and tire combinations posted here and enjoy the variety; so thought I would share.
Finally settled on wheel and tire combination for the painfully slow in the driveway refreshing of the 66 long-bed; look decent for the price range. Below is a picture:

Just need to figure out how to get that engine out of sunroom and into truck
Rims 15x8 = http://www.summitracing.com/parts/UWC-174-5885GN
Tires are Cooper Discoverer AT3 P265/70R15 purchased locally for 145.00 each (includes mounting, balance, taxes, and disposal fees for a set of old tires)

When I pulled the engine (spun rod bearing) it had the original 66 heads but the block was a 360. Put in a crank and rods from a 390 and had the original heads reworked, so now have a 390 (technically a 397 with boring and decking). All machine work performed by a local shop, assembled in the sunroom/back porch.

Very cool wheels. I opted for 17" Mustang wheels on mine with spacers. Something about having big wheels works for me. That engine is going to rock!

Looked back through your thread; those rims seem to fit nicely under with the low profile tires. I never thought about fitting rims from modern cars.

The 20x8.5 didnt feel right when driving but once i put those on my 2014 mustang and put the 17x7 on the truck it road much better. The 7" wide rim on the front really helps even with power steering. Just seems more nimble. Plus i like to look better with the 17" wheels.

Got engine on a mobile cart to get out of sunroom; my helper cannot believe I am f*%$ing with this instead of taken her to the woods

With the help of plywood and cheery picker got it out of sunroom and rolled over to truck

Plywood used again to build level base for cherry picker on sloping driveway; and it is in !!!

Getting close to start up

Gavin, great progress, keep up the good work, and you'll be on the road soon. Like the clean and simple engine compartment. Thanks for the inspiration. Bob

Thanks Yankbs,
On the pipeline until labor day week most likely so can only think and prepare. Nothing like the adventures of a sloping gravel driveway build; keeps one on their toes and ingenuity and patience are a requirement.
