Windows 10 was released yesterday. I am sure all you computer techies out there have already installed it. I got a free upgrade on the laptop because I bought it 2 months ago. That is the only reason I have it. Too early to form an opinion as it installed last night before bed, and I am just now using it for the first time.

Since I have four computers, and only one qualifies for the free upgrade, I figured why not? I am no stranger to new versions of Windows, and was a little apprehensive about it since I have had problems upgrading Windows in the past. Usually with drivers that don't work. However, like I stated earlier, it took less than an hour to do the automatic upgrade, and everything works. It did want to use its own browser, which I switched back to Firefox, but all my calendar remainders are there, I lost none of my photos, or documents, and you can barely tell anything is different. I still have not delved into it much as I had a doctor's appointment to go to, but I will check it out today and tomorrow.

Well, I am a happy camper now. Comcast came out and got my cable up and running. Apparently there should have been a splitter in the self starter kit so I can run the cable box and modem off of the same wall jack. This apartment has two wall jacks, but the second one is not connected to anything. So I got to watch two whole hours of Emergency on MeTV! WooHoo!
Also, found out the TV package I have must be a lower one than I had before, or they have changed their packages, because there are quite a few channels I used to watch before, that I am not authorized to watch now. So I will have to check their lineups. While talking to the tech, I found out it is only an extra $10 a month to get HD programming, so I most likely will upgrade to that, but I need the correct cables. Since I have a DVD recorder, I need two sets of the component cables. Both of them about 3 feet in length. The tech goes to his truck, but only has one set, and it is 25 feet in length! I accepted them anyway, as now I only have to buy one set of cables. (Who keeps their cable box 25 feet from their TV?)
And the second reason I am a happy camper is that I got some good news from my doctor yesterday, my CLL is still at stage zero! (CLL is the only form of cancer that even has a stage zero). So, she says she will see me in 4 months to check on me again.
