Single click when starting

1996 F250 xlt 5.8. About 50% of the time I start my truck I hear a click from what sounds like the starter. It starts fine and runs good.
Starter maybe not releasing fast enough from the flywheel? Normal AMP battery nothing crazy.
Just not sure if my starter is about to go. Any ideas?

You hear the click before the starter cranks or after it's running?

It is all at the same time. Once I turn the key, the engine turns and I hear the click.

These trucks have notoriously crappy battery cables. Clean up the ends connecting to the battery and tighten them down. Replace if necessary. Also, check to make sure grounds are clean to body and starter.
